Andrew & Melissa | A Pheasant Branch Conservancy Engagement Session
This session makes my heart so happy. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the day that I would finally get to meet Andrew & Melissa for months. From exchanging our first emails a few months ago to having a “virtual meeting” over Skype, everything just clicked and I knew that I wanted to be their wedding photographer. I’m SO happy that they felt the same way and I’ve been looking forward to their engagement session ever since!
Melissa & Andrew both grew up in Wisconsin but didn’t meet until attending separate colleges where mutual friends introduced them. Soon after they graduated, Melissa moved to Chicago to teach fourth grade and Andrew knew he had to follow his best friend. Just when they thought life couldn’t bring them any closer together, this family of two grew to a family of three and they were blessed with the birth of their precious baby boy, who graced us with his adorable presence at the session (!!!).
Without a doubt, my favorite moments (the ones that make my heart so full) during sessions are the “in-between” moments that happen naturally between a couple. Posing + direction help compose the image but it’s the emotion & love behind the couple that MAKES the image. Melissa & Andrew had so many of those moments together — just soaking each other in — and it made me weak in the knees.
Andrew & Melissa, I’m so thrilled to be your wedding photographer and to be welcomed in to your family on one of the biggest days of your lives. Thank you for being a soaring example of what love + family looks like <3
