Calvin & Lacey | A Green Lake Wedding at Heidel House Resort
I feel like my blog posts have been getting a little repetitive lately – it’s been a lot of me saying how much I adore my couples or maybe how I cried my eyes out at their wedding…. and today is NO exception! If you guys thought I was going to switch it up, I’m sorry to disappoint you but Calvin & Lacey’s wedding at the Heidel House in Green Lake might as well have been the culmination of my emotions all summer. Extreme gratefulness & a puddle of tears (I’m a giant mush of emotions lately, sorry but not really).
Lacey & Calvin met in 7th grade, which means that they’ve been together for 12 years and have quite literally grown up together. They’ve experienced some of life’s highest highs together & probably weathered a few storms too but through it all their love only deepened. As a photographer, it is such a humbling experience to document the day that Calvin & Lacey have been waiting for for over a decade. Their love is comfortable in the best way & after years of dating, they still look at each other with a fresh sparkle in their eye — the type of love you see in freshly budding relationships.
It’s no secret that couples who love each other fiercely light my heart on fire but I’ve learned that real lasting love goes so much deeper than just two people. It extends into their spiritual relationship & also into the way that their families play a role in their marriage. At Lacey & Calvins wedding, I witnessed love in its truest form when they both stood in front of the room & publicly thanked both sets of parents for their leadership, their love, and their example. Lacey made a point to thank her in-laws for raising such an exemplary son, someone she was honored to be loved by. Calvin thanked his in-laws for giving him the greatest gift of all, his wife Lacey. To have TWO individuals express such gratitude for their upbringings & family was an incredible testament to the type of people Calvin & Lacey are.
I could go on for hours about how wonderful these two human beings are (seriously, they’re amazing) but for now, I’ll let the photos do the talking. Calvin & Lacey, enjoy your honeymoon & this wonderful new chapter together <3
